Hello Little Hedgehog

I have no idea how I decided to create a hedgehog in this artwork.  It just needed to be there.  I think he looks quite friendly.  It might be nice to meet up with this little fellow in the garden.  But, then again it would probably give me quite a start.

At any rate,  this piece of art was done in cut paper.  It measures 11 x 16 and is made with mostly papers I have hand painted.  In the foreground are lines to indicate grass.  That sort of design is made form lino printing with ink and then painting over in greens and yellow.  There is also a bit of scrapbook paper and some old stamps used in this piece as well.

Happy Easter

I may have posted this Spring rabbit on my other blog, last year.  But, I still like it a lot.  So, Happy Easter everyone!  I hope your day is filled with many blessings.  If you have some sunshine, go out and enjoy it!

A Few New Things

It continues to rain in beautiful Albany Oregon.  But, it is Spring after all.

I have finished illustrations for Also An Animal by Lynn Parish Sutton, published by Kane Miller Books.  It should be out soon.  I also just finished illustrations for In Search of a Beanstalk put out by Benchmark Educational Publishing.  Not sure when that will be out in the world.

So, now I'm back to just having fun with my art.  Here are a few new pieces.

Rainy Saturday

It’s raining in Albany.  Not unusual for us.  I kind of enjoy curling up inside with a book and a nice cup of tea.  But, I have a hundred things to accomplish today. So, I better get busy.  I’m getting ready to celebrate birthdays for both my son and daughter today.  I hope you enjoy your day as much as I will.  Cheers!

Holiday Show Coming Soon

Here is one of my collage holiday pictures that will be on display at Sybaris in Albany, Oregon for the month of December 2017.  I started doing this little holiday show 8 years ago.  The idea was really to take my mind off the surgery I would be going through in December of 2009.  So, I decided to do a holiday art show as a gift to my community, who have been so supportive of my artwork.  The first show was a hit, so I just keep doing it every year.  (By the way, the surgery I had went well and I am fine now)

This is a collage on canvas, using old sheet music for my background.  All the other paper was hand painted by yours truly.  16x20

Finished Project

If I could get myself up on the rooftop to sing a song, I would!  I just finished illustrations for a book with Kane Miller Books.  It's coming out sometime in 2018.  That's about all I know.  But, I finished it and mailed it off…

If I could get myself up on the rooftop to sing a song, I would!  I just finished illustrations for a book with Kane Miller Books.  It's coming out sometime in 2018.  That's about all I know.  But, I finished it and mailed it off today!  I must say, it feels pretty good.  As soon and I can tell you more about it and share some images I will do just that.  Fingers crossed that I won't have to make any changes to the illustrations.

Have a lovely day everyone, and thank you for stopping by my blog.

Getting Organized

While waiting for paint to dry on paper I've been painting.  I thought I would take a minute and update my web page.  Yikes!  It takes more than a minute or two.  Anyway, hang in there with me, I will try and get thing put together as soon as I can.  I doubt anyone is looking at this anyway.  But, just in case.  I am working on it.  Thanks for your patience.
